The Management Tab

The Management Tab is where you can get an overview of the financial performance of your title. Each sub-tab contains a different report that pulls information from across the Stison system, such as Editorial and Sales/Royalties, into one place so that you can quickly see how profitable a title has been.

Sales & Returns 

This sub-tab shows the totals generated from all of the sales and returns data that has been uploaded for this title in the Sales and Royalties module. From left to right, you can see how many the total copies sold of each format, the net value of the product, and the gross income.  By clicking on each format within the tab, you can see a breakdown of the home and export sales that have added to the total. 

Profit & Loss 

Here is where you can view a Profit & Loss breakdown of your title, which is available to download if you wish to do so. This report pulls data from Sales and Royalties on the sales and returns and royalties generated. It also pulls in the costs that you have recorded in the Production module. By selecting each format, you'll get a full breakdown of the total income compared against the total costs to make the product. 

 

You can take a closer look at this data, by selecting the blue field. For example, if you were to select 'Royalties Earned', you would see an initial breakdown by contributor.

Variance

The Variance report pulls information from multiple different modules to give you one place where you can compare the predicted profit of your title with the actual profit. Think of it as a useful reference point when forecasting future projects that may be similar to this title. 

In the Income section, the estimated values are pulled from the Sales Forecast tab within the Editorial module, whereas the actual values are pulled from the sales data uploaded for the title in the Sales/Royalties module. Stock information that you have uploaded to your Title Manager module will also be recorded in the table here. 

The sub-tab also provides a comparative overview of the estimated and actual Production costs for this title, pulled from the information you have built out in the Editorial Costs tab, and Production's Costs tab. 

This information is then combined with royalties information from the Sales/Royalties module, resulting in a full calculation of this title's current profit and SGP (Sales Gross Percentage). 

At the bottom of the screen, information about this title's print runs is displayed. 

Report

The final sub-tab is a sales report for your title. Here, you can view all of the sales made of this particular title within a specified date range. You can also choose whether you would like the output to reflect the value accrued or the units sold, as well as whether you would like to review the report on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. 

The Cumulative toggle allows you to change the results to be accumulative over the specified time period.
