Monthly Reports Follow
The Sales / Royalties module has a number of ways in which you can view, report on and analyse your sales data. Please note that these reports have been created based on publisher feedback.
In the left-hand menu of your Stison system, you will see an option for Royalties Reports, as circled in red in the screen grab below.
Under this Royalties Reports heading, there are several reports available for you to view.
Detailed instructions are available for each of these. In this article you will find instructions specifically related to Monthly Reports.
When you click into this option, you will see several sub tabs, as shown in the red oval within the following screen shot.
The way to use each separate sub tab is the same, so please apply these instructions to all of the following monthly reports sub tabs:
- Sales
- Returns
- Adjustments
- Net Sales
- Average Discounts
The system is set up to show you the data for the most recent month based on the date you access this part of Sales and Royalties. If you like to see more than just the last 30 days, you need to adjust the From and To dates on the top.
You can then filter and retrieve data related to each sub tab based on the following options should you want to break down the data even further:
Click on the magnifying glass to search your system for Contributor, Book Title or Retailer. Alternatively, you can type the information direct into each box.
Please note that the filter has 4 options: Top 10, Top 20, Top 30 and All.
You can then decide if you want the output to reflect the currency value or in units/copies.
You can also adjust the information that is brought into the screen. Simply drag any items from the right hand side, called Available Columns, to the left hand side, called Selected Columns, as shown below:
Once you click on the blue GO button, the system will retrieve the information you have requested. What will be displayed below all the filters will be a line by line list of the data. Below that will also appear a line graph that will give you a quick at a glance view of the movement of sales.
In the following example, we have decided to look at the sales over the course of the month of September 2019.
It is also possible to download the information into an Excel spreadsheet so you can then manipulate the information for reporting purposes and email it to any number of recipients. In order to do this, click onto the Download button in the top right hand corner of the screen. We have marked it with a red circle in the image below:
The data from above appears like this when downloaded into an Excel spreadsheet:
As mentioned earlier in the article, you can access further data in the subsequent tabs available here to you by applying these same instructions.
