Adding Commodity Codes Follow
You may add commodity codes to books via the forms tab, further product details sub tab, in the product classification section. There is a global classification scheme called the WCO Harmonized System. Countries do have their own schemes that are based on this (in the UK for example there is the HMRC scheme). These schemes are also known as: HS Commodity Codes, WCO Harmonized System, HMRC codes.
These codes can be bulk imported from title management via the commodity code mapping in the importer.
WCO Harmonized System is Mapped by choosing Commodity Code, whilst HMRC Codes can be Mapped against HMRC Code.
What code should I be uploading?
The best place to find the required codes is to do a search on the following site: https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff
The value for a WCO Harmonized System should be the 6 digit code. A HMRC code is a WCO code with an extension applied.
You may also want to consider setting the country of manufacture as well. This can be set on the publication tab, or mapped (& loaded in bulk) via the importer.
