Publishing Status and Product Availability Follow
The publishing industry uses Publishing Status and Product Availability as two separate elements of data to determine a product's current availability. Both items must be submitted in a title's ONIX record as they are mandatory fields.
Publishing Status:
Firstly, you will access Publishing Status in the Publication tab. It is circled in the following screen shot:
Here are all of the possible Publishing Statuses that you can use in alphabetical order. You can use the industry codes when bulk uploading Publishing Status.
Zoom in on your screen to see the items closer up.
Product Availability:
Now that the Publishing Status has been added, navigate to the Price tab. You'll notice that the information added through the Publication tab has come through here. We have marked it in a blue circle in the following screenshot. The Product Availability, which we have marked in a red circle, needs to be allocated as well. You can use any of the following industry codes:
Remember to hit the Update button in order to save your work.
Please note that if you are uploading titles in bulk to the system, you need to ensure that your column headings match what the system is looking for. For instance, Product Availability must be labelled as Product Availability (rather than just Availability).
Title Manager is also designed so that you can show the status of your title not only from an overall perspective, but also for each individual market you sell it in. For instance, you could set the Publishing Status of a book to Active, but have different information for different suppliers such that your UK distributor could have this marked as Available where your US distributor could be stating that it is Not Yet Available. You just need to add each market under its separate supplier within the Price tab.
