Using Royalty Contract Templates Follow
It is helpful to be able to create a Template file to store royalty contracts that are often used, or only get minimal changes made to the terms. Thankfully within Stison there is the option to create different templates and apply them to titles as required.
Creating a new Template
To create templates follow the steps below.
1. Navigate to Sales and Royalties and then Royalty Contracts
2. Click Create New
3. Create a name for the template (ie Standard Single Author Contract)
4. Check the Box beside the word Template.
5. Click Create
6. Add the Rules for the contract using the Create New button
7. When setting the rules up set the Contributor to Default Rule
8. Once all rules are added click on Update.
Applying a Template to a Title
To apply a contract template you will need to follow these steps.
1. Navigate to Sales / Royalties and then use the menu item Royalties.
2. Select the title you wish to use the template with.
3. When in the title use the Copy From Template button as shown below.
4. This will bring up a new box asking which contributor you wish to apply the template to:
5. You will then be asked to choose the template you wish to apply:
6. Click on the contract name and a new contract will be create in the system and the title and Author will be added to it.
You then go and edit the contract details in the normal fashion by clicking the Edit button beside the contract name (see circled image below).
Viewing and Editing Templates
You can view all your templates in the following way:
1. Navigate to Sales / Royalties, then to Royalty Contracts
2. Click on Show Templates
3 A list of all templates will be displayed.
From here you can click on a template and edit it or remove it from the system.
