Errors Upon Uploading Large Files Follow
When bulk uploading data into Stison via an XSLS file, the system will block the upload if it is too large.
For example, in the image below, the error displayed has identified that the file is too large:
Sometimes, Excel will record data in cells that appear to be empty, causing the file to be much larger than what the displayed data accounts for. If you do come across this error, and have not knowingly exceeded the file upload limits, it may be worth deleting the empty rows and columns. You can do this in the following steps:
- To delete rows:
- Click on the first empty row below your data
- Ctrl-shift-down arrow, then right click and delete
- [MAC: Cmd-shift-down arrow]
- To delete columns:
- Click on the first empty column to the right of your data
- Ctrl-shift-right arrow, then right click and delete
- [MAC: Cmd-shift-right arrow]
- Save.
Optionally, saving the file as a CSV could prevent you from running into this error by clearing formulas in otherwise empty cells.
