Confirming Outputs Follow
A project in production may have several outputs: eg: paperback, hardback, ebooks (epub, pdf) & audio. From this screen, we can map a single production project into several outputs. The system can retain the provisional ISBNs, formats and descriptions without making them visible within title management until their title creation is required. Once you confirm the output, the product(s) will then have their own title records within Title Manager.
Clicking on the Outputs tab will take you to the following screen.
If the title doesn't already exist within your Title Manager module, in other words the information about the title originated within your Production Module (Pre-Production), then you will need to tick the box beside: Create in Title Manager. You will also need to check the Create print run? box if you want to create a print run in production (only for physical formats).
Fill in the rest of the fields accordingly: find a title from the list. Is your production Linked to an existing title? If so, add each separate form to this tab. In the following example, Title 17 has the following formats linked within its production schedule:
You can confirm these are then linked by returning to the main Production screen. We have circled the relevant field in Title 17 below:
Returning to the Outputs tab, choose the Form from the drop-down menu. Add an ISBN13 either manually or by clicking on the ISBN13 pick list to choose. You can also click on Next available.
If you want to add more outputs, click on Add another output.
To delete any row, click on the bin symbol in front of the row you want to delete.
If your production has any components, like boxes, calendars notebooks, working material, click on the Components tab and add all the necessary information:
When you are finished, click the Update button. By doing this, you ensure that your book information has now transferred over to Title Manager and also now appears within the Book Production reports.
By the time you have completed the Outputs tab, along with all the other tabs available in Production Manager, you can begin to consider the reporting.
