How do I record KDP KENP sales in Royalties? Follow
If you sell your ebook exclusively through Amazon, you have the option to enrol your book in KDP select. This gives you a range of tools to promote your product on Amazon, but crucially it also means that your book is included in Kindle Unlimited.
Amazon records 'sales' in Kindle Unlimited based on the number of pages read by Kindle Unlimited users in a given period. These are labelled as KENP sales - Kindle Edition Normalised Pages. This can result in very high 'sales' figures, which, if uploaded into Stison under the same Sales Type as your broader digital sales, can result in a distortion of your sales figures. This is because the value of a KENP sales is lower than a traditional sale.
If you are receiving KENP sales, we would recommend creating a sales type for them that is separate to your broader digital sales types. This will allow you to:
A) Set a unique royalty rate on them where needed and;
B) Separate them from traditional digital sales, to reduce any confusion on your royalty statements.
