How can I remove a sales file that I have uploaded? Follow
There may come a time when you need to delete a sales file that you have uploaded into the system. You can do this both for files that are failing to upload successfully due to errors, for example, and for files that have successfully been uploaded to the system but may have incorrect data.
N.B Please note that you cannot delete a sales file once the data within it has been included in a pay run.
You can delete sales files from two different places within the Sales & Royalties module. The first is directly from the Sales File Queue, which can be accessed from the main Sales Window by pressing the button highlighted by the red circle below.
This will take you to a screen where you can view all of the sales files that are still in the process of being added to the system. In the following example, you can see that the file that has been uploaded has failed due to errors.
Select the blue View Issues button to review the errors and warnings that the system has flagged when checking the file. If you would like to remove the file completely from the system so that you can edit it before reuploading, scroll to the bottom of the screen and press the yellow Delete File button.
You can also delete Sales Files directly from the main Sales Window. You may need to do this in cases where a file that has been uploaded successfully contains incorrect data and thus needs to be removed from the system. To delete a file in this way, proceed through the following steps:
- Browse to the Sales Window.
- Go to the drop-down section in the right-hand corner.
- Choose the relevant file from the list. If the filename is not listed, try changing the date range to the left of the file name.
- Once the file is selected, you will be see that the option to delete the file appears next to the filename. See Highlighted area below.
- Clicking on the Delete File button will remove the file and all it contents from the system. Please note that this can only be done if the sales data has not already been added to a pay run. If the sale does not have a checkbox next to it in the Sales Window, this means it has been processed in a pay.
If you are experiencing issues with your sales files, contact helpdesk@stison.com and somebody from the company will provide assistance.
Top Tip: leave any sales files that may need further investigation from the Stison team in the sales queue - that way we can take a closer look at the errors that the system is flagging.
