Editorial Schedule Follow
The editorial schedule screen is designed to track cyclical tasks associated with the creation of the project before it enters Book Production. From this screen, you can assign tasks:
- by type - proposal, manuscript, report, final manuscript, revised manuscript, referees, sample chapters.
- by role - author, editor, referee, reviewer
Active Tasks:
To keep an eye on your Active Tasks, fill in the fields on the Editorial Schedule screen as below.
1. Choose a: type. In our example, we've selected manuscript.
2. Choose a role, for instance editor. The role is linked to the selected contacts on the contacts tab.
3. Assign the expected date.
4. Select update at the bottom of the screen, and a new active task field will appear, allowing you to track multiple active tasks concurrently, as shown below:
5. When the manuscript returns, for instance, fill in the received dates & then archive the task by selecting 'completed'. This will then move all the dates to the previous tasks list in the lower left portion of the screen.
6. Click on the "+" symbol to expand the thumbs up and thumbs symbols:
7. Click on the correct one depending on whether the received material was accepted or rejected. Eg: a contact may reject the prospect of reviewing the work. The selected item is recorded in the history.
8. You can add costs and notes by clicking on the blue cost and note buttons:
Decision:
9. Choose from the calendar dates when a Decision was Accepted, Withdrawn or Rejected or when it was sent / will be sent to Production.
Completion Schedule:
The items that appear here come from the Completion Schedule template. For information on how to configure a completion schedule template, please see this page. If you have more than one completion schedule template, you can select the template using the settings button to the right of the completion schedule.
10. Fill in the Completion Schedule with relevant dates.
Here you can see all the previous tasks and what happened with them.
11. Once you are finished, click on the Update button. You can move onto the next tab to: record rights held.
