Outputting data from Editorial to Title Manager Follow
When a prospective title has gone through your Editorial process, and you now wish to have a full record in Title Management, which you can start to flesh out more fully, you can create a product from your Editorial record using the outputs tab.
In doing so, there is some key data which you may wish to copy over into Title Management, in order to reduce duplicated data entry.
This article will outline exactly what data will be copied from Editorial to Title Manager. Please note that not everything will copy across. If we take 'receiver / proposer' for example, there is no corresponding place to hold this information in Title Manager, and as such it would not be appropriate to copy it over.
Moreover, data held in Title Manager may well be sent out to your partners using Onix. We are therefore keen to ensure that no 'first draft' data makes its way into your metadata, as part of our metadata quality control.
The full list of data that copies over is as follows:
- Title
- Sub-Title
- Edition
- Subject
- Theme
- Language
- Series
- Imprint
- Publication Season
- Publication Date
-
Some Text:
- Synposis (This will populate the 'Main Description' field)
- Key Selling points (copies over to a 'NOT INCLUDED IN ONIX' field)
- Marketing Plan (copies over to a 'NOT INCLUDED IN ONIX' field)
- Competing Titles (copies over to a 'NOT INCLUDED IN ONIX' field)
- Contributors
- Illustration Note
- Illustrations
- Audience
- Thema Codes
- Bisac Codes
- Chapters
- Sales Forecasts and Costs will Copy over into the Management Tab
- If you have generated a Rights contract and a Royalties contract from the Editorial Module, on creation of a corresponding product in Title Management, these contracts will be linked to the Title Management record
