Sales Forecasts Tab Follow
The Sales Forecast tab is the section where you can store anticipated sales regarding the project you're adding to the system. These are of course predictions but can sometimes be based on discussions with retailers and customers. For instance, BookPeople may have tentatively confirmed copies of a potential project. As with any new idea in publishing, the Sales department and Editorial department will have contacts that can establish likely interest and orders. Sometimes, establishing market interest is the first port of call for a new project idea. Stison's Editorial module allows you to start storing that information in a way that will enable you to determine if your project idea is financially viable.
When clicking on Sales Forecasts tab you will be taken to a new screen with 3 sub-tabs:
The first tab is where you will populate the relevant fields for your sales forecasts. Based on the figures you put in, the system will then automatically calculate your Total anticipated sales value and units. NB you will not consider the profit and loss elements until a little bit later.
NB: your retailers are configured under Contacts --> Organisation Admin. See here for more detail.
You can add another sale by clicking on Add another sale, and then completing the data fields again.
Click Update when you are finished and you will be taken to the next sub tab: Grants. You may be part of an organisation that is successfully awarded grant money for the production of your project. Alternatively, you may wish to store Open Access grants applied for by either yourselves or your authors. If this is the case, then you can use this tab to store the relevant information. The screen show below shows you the possible data fields that you can store.
When you are finished, click the Update button to store you information. You will then be taken to the next sub tab: RRPs, where you can input the price in different currencies. Begin by establishing the base line retail price of the product in your home country. Then, if you will be publishing other editions simultaneously or selling the product in other countries with different currencies, add those here too. To so, click on Add another RRP and complete the fields accordingly. The screen show below shows you the RRP tab.
Click Update when you are finished.
