Uploading Product Form Information Follow
This page is intended to provide specific detail on one particular type of upload. For our general guidance on the upload process, please see this page.
When uploading product form information in bulk, there are 4 columns available for you to map:
- Product Form
- Epub Type
- Product Form Detail
- Product Form Description
- Packaging
Product Form refers to the basic form, such as Paperback or Hardback. You can browse the forms available in the Forms tab in Title Manager:
Epub Type is only applicable when uploading e-publications. In this instance, the Product Form would be 'Electronic book text'. You can then use Epublication type to specify if this Epub is a Kindle, or a PDF for example. Again, you can browse the available Epub types by selecting the drop down menu in the Forms tab in Title Manager (visible in the above screenshot).
Product Form Detail refers to the extra detail that you can choose to include about a particular product form, the options for which are taken from Onix Codelist 175. For example, you may wish to specify which sizing convention this form conforms with, or provide more accessibility detail according to the DAISY standard. You will need to upload the code, rather than the name of the relevant detail.
Product Form Description is intended for use in cases where product form does not adequately describe the product. In this field, you can provide a short text description to give a more detailed specification of the product form. This information will be displayed in the 'Additional Description' field in the Forms tab in Title Manager (visible in the screenshot above).
Packaging refers to for example, whether the product is contained within a slip-case, or a blister pack. To upload this information, you will need to use the relevant code from the Onix codelist: https://ns.editeur.org/onix/en/80
Below we have provided an example of an upload that includes all of the above detail. Please note however that you do not have to include all of these fields.
