Uploading Rights Information Follow
When it comes to uploading the rights held against titles, the data about which is held on the Rights tab in Title Manager, you need to map each rights type as a column, with the territories or countries listed in the cells. The rights types (and therefore the available column mappings) are:
- Rights 01 (Rights - Exclusive)
- Rights 02 (Rights - Non Exclusive)
- Rights 03 (Rights - Not For Sale)
- Rights 04 (Rights - Not For Sale)
- Rights-05 (Rights - Not For Sale)
- Rights-06 (Rights - Not For Sale)
So, in the example above, the column heading would be Rights 01 (Rights - Exclusive), and the cell value would be WORLD.
It is likely however that your rights could be more complex. For example, if you held exclusive rights in France, and non-exclusive rights in the rest of the world, you would need more columns. You would need one column header of 'Rights 01 (Rights - Exclusive)', with FR as the cell value, and another column header of 'Rights 02 (Rights - Non Exclusive)', with a cell value of ROW (Rest of World):
The Territory and Country Codes can be found in the drop down menu's on the Rights tab in Title Manager.
Tips & Tricks
- If you have multiple formats, all with the same rights, you can formulate your spreadsheet for one ISBN, and then simply copy and past the rights information into a new row for each ISBN associated with that title.
- Stison allows you to create custom territories, which can make the process of assigning countries / territories under different rights types much quicker. This is particularly the case where your organisation has groups of countries that their books often have particular rights within. Our guidance on this can be found here. Once you have created your custom territories, you would simply need to enter the territory code created under the relevant rights type column heading.
