Uploading or replacing Cover Images in Bulk Follow
The easiest way to add a cover image to a title record is to find the relevant title and add a jpg with the Media Tab.
However, Stison understands that you may have several cover images that you are ready to add to your system at the same time. You could have a large backlist that you are integrating into the Stison system from another, for instance, and adding them each individually would take more time than you have to spare. Or you may even need to change a number of cover images for any reason.
In order to complete a bulk upload, you must first remember the following rules regarding cover images:
- Files must be saved as JPGs (not TIFFs)
- Name the JPG using the title's 13 digit ISBN so that the system knows where to place it
- A cover (or file of folders) must not exceed 40M in size - we recommend that all cover images be saved at a maximum of 150 DPI.
- The image must not exceed 1400 px in either dimension
Navigate over to the following part of your Title Manager system: Asset Management - Cover Upload. You will find yourself here:
Please note that in the screenshot above, you can see that we have ticked the 'Replace Image' option, which means that any cover upload will be deconstructive - in other words, any previously held cover images will be replaced by the new.
As you can see above, you can upload your covers in one of two ways:
Uploading Individual JPGs:
If you click on the blue Upload Files button, the following screen will appear:
Simply drag and drop the cover(s) you want to add into the box that comes up on your screen. The items will then be listed, as shown below:
To remove a cover, click on the item we have highlighted in the red square above.
The total size of the files uploaded appears where the red circle has been placed.
When you have added all of the relevant items, click on the Start Upload button that we have marked in the red star. The status column will start to change from 0% to 100% as the files are uploaded onto the system. When all is completed, you will be taken back to the main Cover Upload screen. The covers will have successfully been added to the relevant title records IF they were saved as the 13 digit ISBNs.
Uploading a zip file:
Alternatively, you can upload a zip file by searching through your computer. Click into the Choose File button located in the Zip File field, which is beside the red circle in the image below.
Remember that this file must not exceed 40M.
Select the relevant folder from your computer and then click on the blue Update Button. The name of the file will appear on the screen, as shown below:
Once you click on Update, the system will begin to retrieve the items from the folder and will try to allocate them to the relevant title records. In the following screen shot, we have shown you what will happen if the covers are not saved accurately:
If there are no errors, then the screen will reflect that the upload is complete. We suggest cross referencing a small selection of the uploaded covers to ensure it worked.
