The editorial schedule screen is designed to track cyclical tasks assigned to the contacts associated with the creation of the project before it enters Book Production. From this screen, you can assign tasks:
- by type - proposal, manuscript, report, final manuscript, revised manuscript, referees, sample chapters.
- by role - author, editor, referee, reviewer
If you select: type proposal and role authors, the authors selected in the contacts tab will appear below where you can assign the appropriate dates. When the proposal returns, you can insert the received dates into the fields & then archive the task. This will then move all the dates to the lower left portion of the screen.
You may track multiple active tasks concurrently.
To easier follow your Active Tasks fill in the fields on the Editorial Schedule screen:
Choose from the drop down menu a task and a role. The role selection will select the valid contributors for the date assignment. The role is linked implicitly to the selected contacts on the contacts tab. Fill in the dates in Sent, Expected and Received fields. Click on the "+" symbol thumbs up and down will show up:
Click on the correct one depending on whether the received material was accepted or rejected. I.e.: a contact may reject the prospect of reviewing the work. The rejection is recorded in the history.
You can add costs and notes by clicking on blue cost and note:
Choose from the calendar dates when a Decision was Accepted, Withdrawn or Rejected or when it was sent / will be sent to Production.
Fill in the Completion Schedule with relevant dates.
Here you can see all the previous tasks and what happened with them.
Once you are finished, click on the Update button. You can move onto the next tab to: record rights held.
