Creating a Journal Follow
In addition to storing your book data in Title Manager, you can also keep track of your Journals. Journal information is stored within the Journals & Collection section in your Stison.
Adding a Journal
To add a new journal to your system, navigate to the Journals & Collection Tab within your Stison. On this page, you will be able to see all of the journals you have previously created, as well as the functions necessary for creating a new journal.
To create a new journal entry, select "Create New."
From here, you will be able to add the Journal's title, language, journal code, ISSN (print and/or digital), etc. Once you have completed the information relevant to your journal, click "create"
Note: The language will have automatically populated based on the default language of your system. Content Type will also have populated as journal.
Once you have created your journal, you will see this screen:
The editing page will look and operate similar to your Books page. The following tabs will appear:
Title: The main page for your journal entry. Here you will see the most basic of data assigned to your journal.
Contributor: Much like the Contributor Tab in Books, this tab is where you will enter your contributor's information. You will also have the ability to add in contacts for the journal's Editorial and Advisory Boards.
Publisher: Here is where you will enter information about the journal's publisher, audience type/ codes, as well as link(s) to the journal's website.
Subject: Much like the Subject Tab for books, the tab for journals includes fields for Thema, BIC/BISAC, Library of Congress identification, and key words, etc.
Price: This will be where you add the information about a journal's supplier and pricing.
Other: You can add illustration notes, prize data, descriptions and reviews. This tab functions similarly to the Blurbs Tab in Books.
Related: You can add related titles and journals to this tab.
Media: Here, you can keep track of the media files associated with your journal. You can upload your journal's cover image as well as any assets you may keep stored within Asset Management.
Indexing: You can add the information relevant to your journal's indexing here.
SEO: You can edit the SEO URLs associated with your journal here. One will automatically populate based on your journal's title, but you can add and delete URLs.
Tags: The tags you may have previously created for your books will appear as options here. Select the tags you want the journal to be associated with, or create new tags for it from within General > Tags.
Books: It is here that the issues of your journal will appear. You will be able to add issues to your journal once they have been created in Books.
