Option to select multiple subjects in Editorial Module
AnsweredArea Impacted:
Editorial
Request Summary:
We would love to have the option to select/include up to 3 subject categories in the Title tab of the Editorial module.
Description/Use Cases:
We generally like to select 2-3 subjects for each of our new books. These categories are included in things like our seasonal catalogue and are also used to analyze our list through sales reporting (identifying gaps, strengths, subject areas to develop, etc). Right now, we are able to select several subjects in Title Management but it’d be great to have those in place in the Editorial module and have that info flow through to Title Management.
Impact of limitation or missing feature:
Only being able to select one subject category in the Editorial module means that further subject categories will need to be selected later on in the Title Management stage. This means that editorial/sales/marketing teams don't all share the same seamless visibility in terms of what subjects have been selected, and may not be aligned on these subjects.

Official comment
Good afternoon Elinor Robertson and Erin Dunlop,
Due to renewed interest in this request, we're looking at scheduling it into development.
It would be useful for us to know how you would be intending to report on this - ie how this information might be used at the editorial stage to review your scheduled / proposed titles, and therefore to support planning. Or indeed if this is the intention behind this request.
Many thanks,
Sophie

At the moment we have to add additional subject categories when the title is transferred into Title Management. For us, it's more an issue of editorial staff adding the most relevant categories that will then be carried through to Title Management but it might also be useful for them to search forthcoming manuscripts by subject too.
