5. Creating a New Editorial Project Follow
Congratulations! You've finished setting up your Editorial module and you're now ready to start adding projects. This is where you can begin logging ideas, new acquisitions, reprints and so on, using the tasks, costs, workflows and statuses you have just created to track each project's progress through the editorial process.
To start adding new projects, select "Editorial" from the Editorial main menu and you will be taken to the following screen:
This is where all of your editorial projects will be listed, as well as an overview of their current status and the immediate next task to be completed. Note that this screen will be blank if you have not yet added any projects to the module.
To add a new project, select the blue "Create New" button. If you are using Editorial workflows, you will be prompted to select one of the workflows that you have configured:
If you have not added any workflows to the system, this pop-up will not appear and you will instead be taken straight to the following screen:
This is where you can start filling out the details of your proposal. There are a number of mandatory fields that need to be filled, as highlighted by the red asterisks:
Organisation: pre-populated by your default organisation.
Full title: the full working title of your project. Note that this does not have to be final!
Language: automatically set to be English, but can be changed with the dropdown menu.
Receiver/Proposer: refers to the person who raised this project and will autofill on creation.
Source: which channel the idea is coming through, eg. is it a new acquisition, a translation, etc.
You can also select the "Status" of the new project using the dropdown menu at the top of the screen.
At the bottom of this screen, there is a host of other information that you can fill out about your proposal, including the immediate next task, format information, prospective RRPs, and so on. You can fill this out by navigating through the following tabs:
Once you are ready to create your proposal, press the blue "Create" button. This will save your project to the main Editorial screen.
You will now be able to click on your project and edit the information you have just inputted on the project's Title tab:
You are now ready to start filling building out the data on your project.
