INTRODUCTION AND SUMMARY

These pages detail how you can download, install and read your eBooks. There are also details of some common support issues and how to deal with them. eBooks can be read on a number of devices, including:

• A computer (PC or Mac)
• An e-Reader (e.g., Sony Reader, Kobo)
• A touch tablet (e.g., iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab)
• A smart phone.

It should be noted that eBooks downloaded are not Kindle eBooks and therefore there are no instructions included within this document relating to Kindle files.

What is DRM?

DRM stands for "Digital Rights Management". DRM technology can be added to eBooks to control some of the book's features, such as downloading, transfer onto an e-Reading device, and a lending period.

DRM was designed to protect digital files against copyright infringement, such as unauthorised copying or distribution. The DRM technology integrated with eBooks also ensures that leased or borrowed books are returned automatically when the lending period ends.

Do I really need to create an Adobe ID?

Yes. All apps and devices must be authorised with an Adobe ID before you can read eBooks. To know more about creating your Adobe ID, refer to the Startup Guide for your device.

What should I install?

If you have a PC or Mac, you should use Adobe Digital Editions ADE. Tablets or Phones should use the BlueFire reader.
