Bulk uploading text to Alt text and captions fields

With the enactment of the EAA legislation on Accessibility fast approaching, is there a way to have bulk download and upload functionality for alt text and captions fields in Stison? Rather than adding the text title-by-title in Stison, we are looking at using technologies to generate the text outside of Stison. Therefore it would save a huge amount of time if we could bulk upload them. A download option would also be great to see check for any missing data.

  Thank you for getting back to me. We're currently testing this functionality - would you be able to provide us with some test cover images with metadata embedded in them so that we can explore how this might work for you? 5-10 would be sufficient. If they're already in the system, just let us know the ISBN's. 

  Once we've tested, we can further discuss how this might work moving forwards.

  Good afternoon Robin Virgin,

  Thank you for raising this request. The process of creating a way of uploading data against assets is a bit of a long road to go down, so in the meantime, are you intending to embed this metadata in your images? If that is the case, we have the ability to pull the metadata from an asset, which will then be stored in eg the 'Alt text' and 'Caption' fields in Stison, and sent in your Onix. 

  Is this for your cover images, or for all of your images eg covers, contributor photos, spreads etc?

  Apologies for the delayed response. We have been looking at how and when we intervene in the production process to embed alt text in ebook and cover files. It would be really useful if Stison could pull the metadata from the asset. 

  So definitely cover images. We are assessing the rest of our assets and will let you know. Is there a particular process in place on Stison for the alt text to be pulled from the file, and if so could you let me know. If not, how do you anticipate this happening?
