Adding 'Market's' to the Contracts area
AnsweredWe would like to be able to filter our contracts by the markets each customer has brought the rights to, for us they are School, Library and Trade. At present, there is no easy option to be able to search to series/titles that have only sold to the trade market. Adding this function in to Rights > Contracts > Rights where you add the format, license, countries, language etc, would be helpful.
Would it be possible to duplicate the Territories in this section and call it Markets? They are customisable per company so it would be useful for many people.

Hi Kelly McBride,
Thank you for raising this request.
The team have taken a look at potential solutions for this, and are wondering if the market (school, library, trade) that the customer can sell in is a contractual term? Ie is it a fundamental aspect of the contract terms.
Best wishes,
Sophie

Hi Sophie,
It is a contractual term. It’s the permissions granted to a publisher for the markets they are allowed to sell the books in. Some only buy the rights for Trade, where as others may buy just School and Library, or all three.
If we can filter this, it enables us to manage the contracts better.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks,
Kelly
