To see the list of all of your royalty contracts your titles are connected to, select Royalty Contracts from the main Sales/Royalty menu. Generally Stison expects management of royalties within the main royalties area. There shouldn't be a need to edit contracts, therefor this menu item may be hidden.
Here you can search for your contracts by typing in the title in the search box. You can delete a contract by checking a box in front of the contract you wish to delete and then click on Remove Selected.
The list will be empty if you haven't created any Royalty Contracts yet. To create a new one click on Create New button and you will be taken to this screen:
Enter the Contract Name and click on Create.
Now your contract is on the main list and you can add further details by clicking on it which will take you to the screen with 3 tabs, where you can configure your Royalty Contract:
Under the General tab you will see a list with the royalty rules connected to the contract you are editing. If you haven't added any rules to a contract yet this list will be empty. Note that you have to configure a rule in Royalties section before you can connect a rule to a contract.
Once you did that you will see the name of the rules you added in Royalties in the list under the General tab:
Now you can can create/edit rules for your contract: click on the name of the contributor or on the Create New button, and you will be take to the he screen where you can create/edit rules for your royalty contract:
Select a Contributor from the drop down menu or choose "other", select Sales Type, check Escalate All box if correct, select Forms to apply to from the drop down menu, enter Withholding Rate and Withholding Period, check the correct Payment Type box or Lump Sum.
Clicking on By Break you will see this on your screen:
Now you can configure your break, check the correct box depending on your Break Type the first value of the Break, is always 0, because it marks the start, from where you are starting your break, check the correct box for Payment Type, and enter Payment percentage.
Now you have your first part of your brake.
Now enter the value of your break, in the example on the picture above that value is 200 Units. That means that from 0 to 200 units, royalty is 5% Net, and from 201 that percentage is 10.
You can add as many breaks as you wish by clicking Add another break. There is also an option for Complex split.
Enter the correct info and click Update when finished.
Clicking on Lump Sum you will see this on your screen:
Lump sum is a payment for each sale received.
Click on Update when finished and your rules will populate the General tab list:
To add a rule click on Create New.
To remove a rule check a box in front of the rule you wish to remove and click on Remove Selected.
The next tab is Payee, where you can establish who will get paid and how it is broken down when you have more than one payee. This tab will have as many sub-tabs as titles are connected to the contract (in the example below Demonstration Title 1, Demonstration Title 12, Demo). Note that Contributor is not always a (only) payee:
In the example above Huckleberry Finn and Atticus Finch are spliting the royalties 50-50, but then 50% of both Huckleberry Finn's and Atticus Finch's royalties are payed to other payees. To create a payee click on Create New and a new screen will show up, where you can add a Payee from the list of configured payees and to select a contributor from the drop down menu:
When finished click Create button.
The third tab is Options:
This is the tab where you can influence units sold from different sales types and formats (for example digital to home, UK sales to USA etc)
When finished click on the Update button.
